Educated Luncheon: The Important Role of Family in Firm Creation & Growth

Wednesday, March 8, 2017
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Event Description

Whether bootstrapping it or part of the Billion Dollar Club, family firms are important contributors to wealth creation and societal well-being. Despite this, they are little understood, and only recently have researchers focused on the competitive advantages of these firms.

Learn about the advantages of family firms and the important role of family in firm creation and growth from UAlberta researcher Lloyd Steier, ‘85 PhD, as he looks at the implications for management education, entrepreneurship, policy making, as well as advising family firms in a professional capacity.
